MENS RUGBY
Our 1XV travelled down to a boggy Shoreham and played the conditions beautifully to triumph 14 - 57.
DOR Ryan Morlen said afterwards; “A great forwards display and a complete performance from the squad today, some of the best rugby I’ve ever seen from EG in that second half, full team based rugby. Great to watch!”
Thanks to Molly for the pics.

The 2’s game against Uckfield was reluctantly postponed as the pitches at Saint Hill were swamped, but thanks to Lou, here are some great pics of the 2’s epic game against Hove the week before: Hove pics

This Saturday we have two great looking fixtures with the 1’s hosting Seaford (See below for info on the pre-match meal) and the 2’s travelling all the way down the A22 to take on rivals Eastbourne. The home game kicks off at 2.15pm and the Eastbourne fixture starts at 2.

WOMENS RUGBY
This Sunday marked a momentous stage for ladies rugby in Sussex and Kent as East Grinstead, Tunbridge Wells and Edenbridge all came together for a women's rugby development day.

After weeks of planning, the three teams, all early in the early stages of their development, came together for a brilliant day of socialising, learning and rugby. Mixing the teams into groups, the ladies rotated through 3 sessions run by the coaches from all three teams; Tackling, rucking and mauling. For many ladies, this was their first taste of contact rugby and without a doubt, everyone came away smiling!

To finish the day, Edenbridge and East Grinstead Ladies partnered up to play a short match against Tunbridge Wells. Despite this being Edenbridge's first game of rugby, they showed great handling skills and running lines to secure themselves the win.

A great day of rugby was rounded off with beers and food in the clubhouse! A huge well done to everyone who attended and a big thank you to all those who made it happen! This is just the beginning for these ladies teams, we can't wait to work together again in the future and support each other in growing the sport we love for us and future generations.

Interested in giving rugby a try? East Grinstead Ladies welcome new players all year round and cater to any experience level. If you fancy giving it a go, please drop Natasha an email at: natashagayle1973@yahoo.com

Sunday will see our Women playing their first league game of the year as they make the long journey to Basingstoke. Kick off will be at 2.30pm. Go well ladies!! Remember you can get up to date scores for all our senior teams as they happen on our Pitchero app.

AGE GROUP RUGBY
The waterlogged pitches put paid to all rugby at headquarters for all our Juniors and Intermediates this week, however our U14’s and U16’s both travelled to Horsham and Chichester respectively. Our U16’s suffered a rare loss, but the 14’s secured a great win. Read all about it here: Match report

More great news with our developing players involved with Harlequins RFC, as our own Bryan Karimanzira was picked on the bench for Quins Academy U18’s as they took on Exeter Chiefs. What a brilliant achievement! Bryan got on for the last 20 minutes of an excellent match, carrying hard and making some brutal tackles, while helping Quins to a 31 - 7 victory. Well done mate! Looking forward to seeing you pulling on a G’s senior top soon!

RADIO RYAN
Last week we mentioned that DOR Ryan was interviewed on MeridianFM last Sunday by Tim Graham. If you missed it, here is a link to catchup. Ryan is on about 21 minutes into the programme.

SARACENS TICKET OFFER
I’m sure you have seen that Saracens are playing their Gallagher Premiership Fixture v Harlequins at Tottenham Stadium in March. Last year they played Bristol at the same stadium and it was a great day out – something for all the family.

Sarries are reaching out to grass root clubs across the country and offering them a ‘groups ticket deal’ to experience this great day out with amazing rugby on display as well as big entertainment – something for everyone. It falls outside the 6 Nations window so Internationals will be back in both sides – should be a mouth watering encounter played in what is probably the best football stadium in the country.

For anyone that hasn’t attended one of Sarries Big Games before - it is way more than 80 minutes of world class rugby; the show before, during and after the game will be fantastic fun and a great experience to share - Watch this clip to get more of a flavour: Sarries promo

Saracens v Harlequins, Saturday 25th March 2023 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium:
Full Price Tickets start at £15.75 for U16s and £30.50 for Adults.
Ticket offers vary depending on the numbers attending.
