This Sunday saw a clash between East Grinstead Women and Beckenham Women at HQ, marking the second leg of the season. East Grinstead, seeking redemption after a previous defeat to Beckenham, faced the challenge with determination, despite being low on numbers.

The game kicked off with East Grinstead showing remarkable strength and cohesion, the backs and forwards seamlessly executed a series of great phases, putting Beckenham on the back foot early on. Ten minutes into the game, East Grinstead worked their way up the pitch with precision, utilising new blocker lines. Strong carries from Gould, Pullen, and Sutton set the stage for Lewis (S) to deliver a perfectly timed pass to Greenslade, securing East Grinstead's first try of the game in the corner. Unfortunately, the conversion attempt by Lewis (N) narrowly missed its mark.

Beckenham responded by showcasing their scrum strength, but East Grinstead held their ground. Greenslade's quick pick and go at number 8 brought East Grinstead close to their second try. Despite resilient tackles, Lewis (N) supported and elegantly navigated her way through the defence to score. The conversion by Lewis (S) fell just short.

As Beckenham regrouped, their strong wingers took advantage of the extra space with playing numbers dropping to 14 v 14, resulting in their first try of the game. The difficult conversion was missed, and East Grinstead maintained the lead.

The rest of the first half showcased end-to-end rugby, with East Grinstead displaying strength in both defense and attack. The Wallis sisters collaborated effectively down the wings, paving the way for Carrick to power through Beckenham's defense and secure her first try. The halftime score stood at 15-5 in favour of East Grinstead.

The second half saw East Grinstead sustaining their momentum, with Lewis (N) returning the favour to Greenslade for a perfectly executed try in a classic 2 v 1 scenario. Despite a slightly short conversion attempt by Lewis (S), East Grinstead continued to dominate. Lewis (N), in her signature style, executed a quick tap and go, showcasing fast and agile footwork to score her second try under the posts. The conversion by Lewis (S) was successful.

With five minutes remaining, and a penalty awarded to East Grinstead, Lewis (S) opted for a smart decision to secure an additional three points, bringing the final score to a stunning 30-5. Massive congratulations to the women on this very well deserved win!
