Round 3, Off to a Great Start

All the Seasons in 1 day?
All the Seasons in 1 Match more like !!!

We travelled away to the Waldron Pitch (Heathfield & Waldron) after we were required to re-arrange our home fixture.
Pitch was a little gem we've never visited before, well drained and sound under foot... just as well with what we were about to receive.

Match was scheduled to kick-off at 10:30, but the referee arrived late (got lost finding the place we think :-)
Kick off was 10:55 - in what started as lovely sunshine after the morning of torrential rain.

But it didn't stay that way, sunshine gave way to cloud, then gale force wind, then rain, torrential rain, both together with the rain driven sideways !!! Both teams persevered through it all to provide us a very entertaining and competitive game.

Straight out of the Blocks... and as requested the G's squad laid down their marker... 10:58 and first Try after multiple phases, driving maul and a break way pass to Fin Lee-Fisher who bullied himself down.

Confidence, Passion, Morale, Teamwork... all running on a massive high this week.

Game proceeded with G's battling a H&W team showing heart and commitment never giving up. But G's always looked to be in control. Another 4 tries and a conversion later and the Match ended 27 to G's v nil score to H&W - a little undeserving as they fought very hard and showed promise in attack several times.

MoM
This week selected by the H&W Coaches...
James Young for showing great leadership in 'commanding his troops' on the pitch.
Perhaps a long overdue award for James and well deserved as Captain for the side this year he has been performing his job admirably.
Keep up the good work James.
