East Grinstead 15 Shoreham 13!
A big away win for the G’s fighting at the bottom of the table. Could they push up the leader board? With immense effort in the set piece winning all scrums but mysteriously only gaining one penalty from their dominance.
Windy conditions made handling errors quite prominent on both halves of the field, but G’s stuck it up their jumper and battled this with hard carrying in the second half, creating more opportunities to score.
Tries coming from Henry Weller with a fast break at the start of the game weaving through the defence and getting over the line, Dylan Hammocks with a solo pick and go 5 meters out and Idris Lawal with a massive carry coming from the 22 to try line, shrugging off all incoming threats.
Man of the match going to Josh Weaver for a masterful showing of skill and determination.
DotD going to Reggie Harris for “line outs not going well”.
And in a final note Ryan Morlen (late G’s head coach) missing a penalty for Shoreham in-front of the sticks in the 78th minute which would have sealed the game but fortunately he missed past the left post.
