Holbrook v G's

Turning up to Holbrook RFC on a beautiful sunny day in perfect rugby playing conditions only added to the excitement. After a great win the week before EG wanted to build and keep the momentum going.

Stepping onto the pitch seeing a very large Holbrook pack we knew we had our work cut out and we did, defending the bottom of the hill for the first half was tough, but the boys stuck to it job set out, defending every wave of attack and set piece, only conceding one try!

The spark we needed came after the try conceded and into action we went, scoring the next four try’s. Beet seemed to have the ball on a string at line out time, with Harry and Tom controlling things in the backs, the boys built with some great free flowing rugby, throwing the ball around and supporting each break, capitalising on Holbrook errors and many injuries, EG had more in the tank and applied the pressure throughout the rest of the game.

Some excellent kicking out of hand by Luke Maker saw Scott Devlin cruise down the touch line to secure his brace.

Tom from 10 then turned over the ball on his own try line but his legs would only take him to their 5 metre line….. a quick tap due to Holbrook not releasing saw the try eventually being scored.

Another great day at the office for EG finishing the game and coming away with full points, final result 52-19 to EG, stand out performance this week was George Beet, an absolute menace around the paddock!!
