East Grinstead Dominate Jersey Royals in 41–5 Victory

East Grinstead produced a commanding performance to secure an emphatic 41–5 win over Jersey Royals in a high-quality, physical contest.

The home side started brightly and were rewarded early when Jake Radcliffe opened the scoring, reacting quickest to a loose ball and finishing well in the corner. Jersey responded quickly and showed their strength, using their driving maul and physical ball carriers to force their way over for the second try of the match.

That brief setback only seemed to sharpen East Grinstead’s focus. Will Roberts restored the lead soon after, finishing off a well-worked attacking move. From there, the home side began to take control.

One of the standout moments of the match came from Ben Marelli, who scored a superb individual try, handing off multiple defenders before stepping back inside to score under the posts.

East Grinstead continued to build momentum, and Ali Moffatt added another from a 5-metre scrum, going down the blindside to extend the advantage.

In the second half, East Grinstead’s dominance told. Further scores from Mark Lewis and Aaron Boczek stretched the lead, before Will Roberts had the final word, crossing for his second try of the match to seal the 41–5 victory.

Defensively, East Grinstead were disciplined and resilient, particularly in dealing with Jersey’s forward power and strong maul.
