Bromley v G's

As we come to the back end of what feels like one of the longest seasons, the boys rocked up to what I would describe as the calm before the storm. With a mixed team travelling a short distance from HQ full of youth and hunger, the game started at a phenomenal speed and continued to grow in physicality as both teams wanted to progress to the next round.

The first half saw a lot of back and fourth, both teams ended the half with one converted try and a penalty.

Early in the second half saw a surge from Bromley which produced a flourish of trys and a yellow card for EG, Bromley were clinical downhill and took their chances and for that came off triumphant.

With 15 minutes to spare EG picked up a number of injuries that saw some fresh faces in the first XV, special mentions go out to William Bramwell, Harrison Lockie and Harrison Berry, along with the 2’s top try scorer William Roberts, all more than impressed and showed just why our 2nd XV has been a strong team from game one.

An excellent season and one to be extremely proud of, finding our feet in a higher league we struggled with until the second half of the season where we saw some belief, this I’m certain will roll into next season.

A lot of excitement bobbling as off-season will serve some players time to heal, before we plan and go harder than ever into 2024/25 season.
