SENIOR RUGBY
The Men’s fixtures for the coming season are out and both 1’s and 2’s have some juicy highlights!!
Before all that however, we have some fantastic pre season games and cup fixtures to squeeze in, so get your diary’s out!!
First up are two home pre season warm ups for our senior men. On the 16th August, we host Trinity and then Old Becs on the 23rd. That will set us up nicely for the first round of our cup games on the 27th September. Our 1XV will travel to Uckfield and our 2’s will head south to Worthing to face thier 3’s.
The following Saturday, 4th October, sees our first league fixtures. Our 1XV start with a tricky looking trip to Seaford. Other stand out clashes are Crawley away on 13th December (I love playing Crawley!!) and a trip to Jersey on the 10th January. The league season ends on 18th April at home where we again face Seaford in a potentially crucial climax.

Our 2XV also kick off the league season on the 4th with a home game against Horsham 3’s. This will be a tough campaign in Counties 3, with Littlehampton, Hellingly, Barns Green and Burgess Hill, all having their 1XV teams represented. SUNSHINE 7’s GOLF DAY
The Sunshine Sevens held it’s 21st Golf Day, on Friday 25th July at the magnificent Birch Grove golf course. A full complement of 72 golfers got to experience one of the finest courses in Sussex, which was in great condition. Following the golf, all returned to the Club for dinner, presentations, and the charity auction.
A huge thanks to Challenge Packaging for their sponsorship and providing the auction prizes from their suppliers. We are so lucky to have so many generous people attend the golf day, this combination helped us to raise another amazing total of £32,000. Would also like to thank Penny Farthing for their continued support donating prizes and silverware.

SERVICES DAY
Anyone who attended the last East Grinstead Fire Brigade open day at the club will remember how awesome it was! This years extravaganza, on Saturday 9th August, is fast approaching! Alongside the fire engines, we will have police dogs, police cars, RNLI, air ambulance and a paramedic group. The miniature railway will also be back, alongside a bouncy castle and Ice cream van.
This will be a brilliant day at the club, so please put this in your diary. The day will start at 11am with an hour of quiet demonstration for all SEN children and adults who prefer limited crowds or noise. The gates will open at noon for the general public.
WE NEED YOUR HELP with some of our club stalls on the day! Calling all cake makers. We need your creations for our cake stall. If baking isn’t your forte, we are also desperate for any in date bottles for our bottle stall and any new games, toys or prizes for our kids tombola. If you can help with any of this, please contact Julie at: julie.mason@egrfc.com Many thanks in advance for your help with this.
See you there!!
