MENS RUGBY
After a long summer, we are back at home with 1XV league rugby this Saturday!!
After the disappointment of our pre-season fixture being called off by Heathfield last Saturday, we come into this weekend fresh (Despite all the weddings etc!) and ready for the visit of London Cornish. Having grown and grown as last season developed, we are determined to make a better start this time around, so please make sure you are at the club on Saturday to add your support for the boys. Check back here next week for the match report, pics and news.

We also have an awesome pre-match curry to enjoy. See the article below if you want to attend!

WOMENS RUGBY
A huge thank you everyone who joined us last weekend for our Taster Day! It was great to see girls and women from all age groups coming together for a great day of rugby. Missed it? Not to worry, come and give rugby a go at one of our training sessions on Tuesday and Thursday evenings!

Our Women have a friendly against Heathfield & Waldron on Sunday at Saint Hill. I know they would massively appreciate your support. It will be a 2pm kick off! See you there!!

INTERMEDIATE RUGBY
After announcing our Junior section’s season starting this Sunday from 9.30, here is our new Intermediate Chair to tell you about their new campaign:

Intermediate Rugby 2024/25

Hi everyone, I hope you’ve all been enjoying the summer break and are looking forward to returning to the club on Sunday 8th September for the start of the 2024/25 season.

I also hope that everyone who was waiting for their exam results during this time, got what they wanted and can go on to do what they had planned.

As we went into summer, I had no idea that I would be writing this message to you. We have had some unexpected changes at the club and Bob Marsh, Club Chairman, got in touch with me. As a result of this, and as some of you may already have heard, I have now agreed to take on the role of Intermediate Chairman with the support of the Board.

For those of you who don’t know me, I have coached at the club for many years, am a self-employed Later Life Lending Adviser and Head Coach for this season’s U13 Boys as well as the U14 Girls. I have three children at the club, Edward, my eldest, helps coach in the Junior Section, Thomas, who plays for U13, and Amelia, who is in U10, so it feels like I’m always at the club. My wife, Louisa, has the joy of organising us a family as well as being admin for my teams and can often be found helping out around the club. I was also Junior Chairman for four years and, it seems, didn’t do too bad a job!

I’m looking forward to the new season and getting to grips with the different challenges presented by the Intermediate section and would ask that you bear with me as I settle in.

As has been the case for the last few years, training for the Intermediate age groups will be kicking-off, each Sunday, from 11:00.

I hope to see you all at the club and to get to meet you all over the coming weeks, but please feel free to get in touch should you have any questions or concerns.

Wishing everyone a great season and fingers crossed that the weather gods are kind!

Cheers, Steve
Intermediate Chairman
