May 1st saw the start of the EGRFC reboot as 6 of the lads (Frankie Robinson, Jordan Tucker, Robbie Poole, Callum Bateman-Champain, Zach Merricks and Josh Carr) got the opportunity to star in a demo on a BT Sport match day program. The players travelled up to BT Sport Studios in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park where they were met by presenters Craig Doyle, Laurence Dallaglio and their special guest Danny Cipriani who led the boys in a masterclass on attacking a defensive line.
This was a great experience for the club moving forward and well wishes from such revered names of rugby are always nice and promise a bright future for East Grinstead Rugby - Especially with the up coming Rugby For All "touch competition" in which players, parents and coaches from all sides of the club will form teams to battle it out for some fantastic prizes, with all age groups playing together and some of the seniors helping to coach the juniors (Both Jordan Tucker and Josh Carr are looking to pursue coaching careers), this will certainly be a great experience for all involved.
It was a really proud moment to represent the future of the club we all love. Many Thanks to the team for organising and we look forward to the seasons ahead.
As we say, Onwards!
