East Grinstead Rugby Football Club (EGRFC) are getting ready to welcome French rugby team Rugby Club Romanais Peageois (RCRP), from East Grinstead’s twin town of Bourg de Péage, continuing a relationship between the two clubs which began more than 50 years ago.

In that time many exchanges have taken place between the two teams both home and away, creating many friendships as a result.

Last year EGRFC took a touring side to Bourg de Péage and returned home with the Louis Toporel trophy.

This year’s incoming tour culminates in a game between the two teams on Sunday 6 May at 2.30pm, to take place at EGRFC, The Gearon Pavilion, Saint Hill Road in what promises to be a very tight fought encounter.

EGRFC would like to welcome you to come and support your local team and to find out whether they will retain the trophy they brought back last year, or if RCRP will be returning home with some extra luggage!
