U11's Pushing in the same direction at the Pulborough Festival

The squad arrived to clear blue skies, Jack Frost laden pitches and as ever the wonderful smell of the best bacon sarnies on the festival circuit at Freelands, alas due to some late withdrawals only three opponents were on the cards today.

First up was a bruising encounter with Shoreham RFC, the seasiders proved to be a very physical outfit however the EG boys mixed it up gave as good as they got in the rucks and to their benefit not allowing this to disrupt their fast running style of play, at the sounding of the final whistle they were the happier of the two squads.
Next up were our hosts, as ever this presented a very close encounter and on this occasion the EG boys got a tad over eager with the boot as opposed to keeping ball in hand which combined with a fantastic try saving tackle by Pulborough meant they had less to grin about as the ref sounded close of play.

The boys took on board the negatives from the previous match for their final game against one of the many Horsham teams in this case titled 'the Growlers' our boys got the muzzle out straight away and went into overdrive with powerful running and some crowd pleasing scores ultimately restoring the 'Grin' back in East Grinstead .

A mention to Ben Green who scored a fine brace of tries at his first festival appearance, hopefully many more to follow in the blue and white of EGRFC!

For the spectating parents it was like the sky at night as all they could see in front of them were stars!

Well done lads last festival of 2016, lets see what challenges 2017 bring us'

And not forgetting a big thank you to Mike Sutton for holding the fort at HQ. We wouldn't be able to have successful teams without support of our fabulous coaches!
