One of the oldest and most respected rugby clubs in Sussex gears up to celebrate its historic 90th anniversary and you are all invited.
This year East Grinstead Rugby Football Club (EGRFC) will be holding a celebratory family ‘Garden Tea Party’ at the rugby club, Saint Hill on Saturday 22nd June 2019 from 12 noon, and would like to invite the local community and all club members, ‘past’ and ‘present’.
A wonderful afternoon to mark this milestone is planned with sandwiches, cakes, bar, BBQ and Pimm’s on the pitches and vintage classic cars and bikes (Lingfield Classics), live rock n roll dancing (Cats Whiskers) and games of olden days!
Andy Poole, EGRFC President said: “We are really excited to be celebrating our 90th anniversary and look forward to welcoming families, friends and colleagues from our local community to come along and share this proud day with us all. If you have ever played for the Club or were a friend and supporter, it would be wonderful to meet up again at this historic event.”
The RFU Accredited Club was founded in February 1929 when a number of like-minded people met and the doors were opened. Thousands of players have worn the EGRFC shirt over the 90 years and the club has gone from strength to strength. With floodlit pitches, two superb Club Houses with the best facilities, gifted coaches, loyal volunteers, players, spectators and great venue hire, this gem of a rugby club forms an integral part of the local community.
So, what a lovely opportunity to come and see one of the finest Rugby Club’s in Sussex on this fun day…..plus it is free entry!
