Peggy and her husband Bob Roberts (Bob, former EGRFC Vice President) have been connected to EGRFC since the 1960's, when we used to play at King George's Field in EG. The Townsend Trophy was awarded jointly to Bob and Peggy in 1972 and 1973 and again to Bob in 1975.

Peggy used to organise the post-match teas and up to a year ago would still come up for the occasional Saturday match day lunch.

Our thoughts are with Peggy’s family and loved ones.

Peggy’s funeral is to take place at Worth Crematorium (in the larger chapel) on Tuesday 14 May at 12 noon. The family have said that it is up to people’s individual choice, but Peggy's favourite colours were shades of pinks, mauves and purples - so they are hoping that people who are attending the service might like to incorporate these colours in their outfits for the service. Please note that it is family flowers only.

The wake will be held at EGRFC following the service.
