Media Release - 9 November 2018

East Grinstead Rugby Football Club (EGRFC) have officially taken the England Rugby’s Kids First Pledge.

Quilter RFU Kids First Rugby is the new approach to mini rugby at U7-U13. It helps children get to grips with the game at their own pace, while making sure they have plenty of fun. It upskills coaches, and creates a great safe rugby environment, so children stay in the game for longer.

Andy Poole, EGRFC President said: “As a RFU accredited community club, we are passionate about helping future generations, in rugby and in life. This is our commitment to putting young players in the heart of everything we do and, is an excellent opportunity to develop rugby at grassroots level. Our minis and junior section continue to grow, and we are delighted to be an approved Kids First Club, putting kids first”.

Quilter Kids First Rugby Pledge:

• Put children at the heart of everything we do and all decisions we make.

• Encourage fun on the pitch, through equal opportunity and realistic expectations of
our children.

• Develop children’s confidence and character as players and as people, challenging any behaviour or that conflicts with this.

• Build the skills of our adults to provide a safe, healthy, respectful and enjoyable environment for children.

• Champion rugby’s Core Values, inspiring a lifelong bond between children, adults and our sport.

EGRFC run thriving junior, intermediate, senior and ladies’, contact and non-contact rugby sessions, and new members are invited to come and give it a try. Our rugby is for all ages, abilities and experience. For more information please visit www.egrfc.com or telephone 01342 322338.
