Sunday 24th April

59th SUNSHINE 7’s 2016
Qualifier for the RFU National 7’s
24th April 2016

Here is your personal invite to the Sunshine Sevens – and hope you are going to give us your continued support as we start to build for next year - 60 years of Sevens!

Last year the Senior Elite Mens Tournament for Lady Astor of Hever trophy saw players traveling from all over England and Ireland to play in the Tournament.
It was an all Apache final – with the Apache Raiders winning the Tournament for the first time.
The Plate Competition was won by Samurai Bulldogs beating beating Wooden Spoon Marauders

Its hard to believe but all our efforts this year helped us to raised £10,000 to support local Children’s charities. We again have supported our local School for Autism – Step by Step and our support will help fund projects for the kids. The rest went again to our local branch of The Opportunity Playgroup – this contribution runs the group for about a third of the year. We also continued our association and support of Wooden Spoon.

It is with great pleasure that we announce that the Sunshine Sevens has been selected to become a Local Qualifying Event for a new RFU Sevens Series. You may be aware that there will be a series of local qualifying events around the country where the winners of the appropriate competition will have the opportunity to progress to Regionals, to be held at Allianz Park on Sunday 10th July. Two finalists from the Regional event will be invited to compete at the National finals on the 31st July 2016, please note any elite teams that currently plays in the GB Sevens Series are ineligible to progress through to the Regional Play Off.

We want there to be a FUN TOURNAMENT this year also on the 24th April – and want to invite LOCAL sides and DEVELOPMENT SIDES.

This year we will be running TWO tournaments on the same Day…
Sunday 24th April –
Senior Men’s Elite Tournament – for the Lady Astor of Hever Trophy.
