Our Youth

Welcome Junior Players
Our club welcomes girls and boys of all ages and abilities. We support rugby that is safe and fun for children and many of our coaches have given freely of their own time to acquire the qualifications necessary to teach the game. All our coaches are DBS checked and sufficient numbers are first aid trained.

Some of our coaches still play regularly and therefore keep the strong links between junior and senior rugby secure. Our club now has a history of children starting as young as u6 and progressing through to the senior 1st XV and beyond.

Grass roots rugby is the lifeblood of our club and we recognise and support this. If you don't know who to contact or are unsure of which team you child might be in please contact the Juniors and Intermediate Chairman or Director of Rugby.

The Youth Section U6s to Colts (U18's)
All teams have a manager/coach and at least two assistants and are continually striving towards RFU qualifications. All our teams have qualified first aiders.

Youth teams play or train on Sunday mornings between 10am and 12pm and the older age groups also train on Wednesday evenings on the Club's floodlit pitch. Matches are played at home and away.

The Colts normally play on Sunday afternoons - see the fixture lists on this web site for times or contact the Colts Team Manager.

The Club season runs from September until the end of April. From time to time we organise holiday camps either by the club or invite other organisations to run these at our club.

The club is very keen to promote a close family atmosphere and offer rugby to all children, whatever their ability.

  • Minimum age is five years old (as at 1st Sept)

  • Fees (Includes insurance and all match fees)

  • Playing shirts, shorts and socks can be purchased from the club shop.
  • We encourage parents to join in, whether you decide to put on some boots and join the coaching staff or volunteer with the club some other way. We have a very active social calendar for parents to enjoy and make new friends.

If you would like your child to trial rugby, http://www.egrfc.com/teams/ please click on the email button of the age group relevant to your child. Your coach will try and respond as soon as possible. Alternatively leave a voice mail message on the main club number.
