East Grinstead Under11s newly invigourated 20 person squad went to Heathfield festival on Sunday 30th September and came away with two wins and two losses. Some rules were changed specifically for the tournament which added some confusion to the first few games of the season with 24 players on the pitch.

Despite this East Grinstead got off to an excellent start with a win over a Barbarians side, demonstrating concentration and good shape to achieve a comfortable win. In the next two games the lads put in a spirited effort but lost to teams with better rucking and some impressive runners. The last game, a friendly against Crawley followed on from the pattern of last year with a win for East Grinstead.
