Susie's Saloon

Susies have been regular visitors to the Sunshine Sevens and won the tournament in 2001.Susies Sevens is a collection of like-minded rugby entertainers from around the world brought together by Lars Bjerrehave and Susies Saloon Amsterdam . The 2007 Sunshine 7's Susies Saloons squad has combined London based players from a variety of cultures such as New Zealand, Australia, South Africa as well a many native 7's players this usually creates an interesting mix of playing cultures can keep everyone guessing as to what they will do next even the players themselves.

The Susies first entered the Amsterdam Sevens in 1999 and have progressed markedly over the ensuing years for example going into the 2001 tournament they were ranked 56th out of a field of 60 teams. The team surpassed everyone but their own expectations to reach the main quarterfinals and the legend was born. The squad and appearances across the globe have continued to grow and consequently so has as the silverware cabinet at the back of the Saloon.

Susies have now taken 7's to many corners of the World including fielded teams in the Hottest 7's in the World (Darwin - Australia), Dubai 7's, Cayman Island 7's and New York 7's as well as various European tournaments held in Bulgaria, Ireland, England, Belgium, Switzerland, Sweden, Denmark and The Netherlands. The current Susies Team is the reining Scandinavian Champions (6th year in a row) and last years Spanish 7's Champions.

The boys are looking forward to the 29th of April, expelling a few of the 15's season cobwebs from their system and certainly a befitting day for the 50th year anniversary of the Sunshine 7's.
