Sunshine 7's 2008

25th - 27th April

Sunshine 7s Following the success of the 50th 'Sunshine Sevens' we will be building on this and make the 51st another one to remember. At last years tournament we had the cream of Sevens play for the Lady Astor of Hever Trophy. This was won in style by an outstanding Army side who beat Suzies Saloon 50-12 in the final. The good news is that they planning to come back this year - so the standard of Sevens will again reach another level.

On the Saturday the Ladies played for the Steve Cairns Trophy. Some fantastic Sevens saw the all invitation Pink Ba Ba's side steal the show.

On fund raising - we went back to the tournaments origins - supporting Children's charities. In conjunction with the Rugby Charity "Wooden Spoon" we helped Chailey Heritage Children's School and The Opportunity Playgroup build Sensory Play areas for each of their facilities. Thanks to all teams etc. for helping to raise a massive £10,000 last year towards these really worthy causes.

The recipe was so good last year that we are going to make a weekend of it - and raise money and support these Charities again. We will also have an International flavour - with the England Deaf putting in a team and working with us on the build up to the Tournament.
